The Return of This Old Threat in Kashmir is Alarming, And Government cannot afford to Ignore it

The ending year 2017 has been a remarkable one when it comes to India fighting terrorism in Kashmir. Not only our forces gunned down terrorists in bulk in the valley, this time we quite tactfully scared off stone pelters too.

For decades, several terrorist groups have actively been fueling terror in the valley, including Lashkar-e-Toiba, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, and Jaish-e-Mohammed. And while security forces have already bore down most of them to a remarkable extent, signs of re-emergence of Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen are very clear!

A shadowy terrorist group from past, Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen was always different from most traditional terrorist organizations in terms of constitution, functioning, and just everything. It always made a point to maintain that Kashmir belonged to Pakistan, despite that the group itself was assembled in the valley. It was always fed by Pak and taught to have a pan-Islamic point of view, with merger of Kashmir with Muslim Pakistan being it primary focus.

Back then, we had discouraged and prevented this terrorist group from flourishing by killing its founder Yunus Khan. But, if it manages to rise back again, we may not have a quick troubleshooot policy ready to confront all the damage that it could do us! So, it’s better that we beat it down before it can actually evovle!
