You can always find Mumbai Police’s Twitter page full of updates issuing warnings or related to some social issue in the society. But the sad demise of veteran actor Sashi Kapoor had forced them to break their protocol. Probably for the first time Mumbai Police has decided to pay someone a “Filmy” tribute.
Mumbai Police took it to Twitter to share an iconic photograph of Shashi Kapoor from his classic movie Deewar. In the photo, he is wearing police uniform with an intense look on his face. This movie that shows two brothers’ battle between the ‘Good’ and ‘Bad’ will always stand tall even for the generations to come.
Kapoor had played a major role of an ideal Police inspector in the movie. Keeping that perfect image of an inspector in mind, Mumbai Police has tweeted, “Remembering Ravi Verma, The Reel Life Benchmark For An Upright Policeman.”

Kapoor immortalised the iconic dialogue “Mere Pass Maa Hai” in the movie Deewar and people still remember it. In the movie, he says it when he was warning his brother, played by Amitabh Bachchan, for choosing a wrong path for success. His brother from the movie, Mr. Bachchan also wrote an emotional post saying, “With men like him around, I stood no chance.”
Sashi Kapoor is best known for his work in films like Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Kabhie Kabhi, and Namak Halal. Although he distanced himself from the limelight for a very long time – about two decades – but he maintained a healthy relationship with the whole film industry.
