Mani Shankar Aiyar reaches a new low; launches yet another personal attack on PM Modi

In what seems to be a display of exceptionally derogatory attack, senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar launched a new personal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi by calling him a “neech” and ill-mannered person. Mani Shankar Aiyar referred to Modi while speaking to the media about the Ambedkar International Centre that was inaugurated by PM Modi earlier on Thursday, and criticized him for indulging in cheap politics on the occasion.

According to Aiyar:

Ye aadmi bahut neech kisam ka aadmi hai, is mein koi sabhyata nahi hai, aur aise mauke par is kisam ki gandi rajniti karne ki kya avashyakta hai?

This remark came right after PM Modi criticized Congress for using BR Ambedkar’s name to facilitate their vote bank politics yet doing contributing the least in the last 10 years of Congress rule to build the Ambedkar International Centre – an idea conceived as much as 23 years ago. In saying so, the Indian Prime Minister also took a dig at Congress vice-President Rahul Gandhi, who pronounced himself as a devotee of Lord Shiva, saying that nowadays some parties talked more of Baba Bhole (Lord Shiva) than Babasaheb.

The Prime Minister had said:

Such was his incredible strength that when years after his demise efforts were made by such people to crush his philosophy, when efforts were made to erase his contribution towards nation-building, his ideals could not be wiped out from people’s memory.

In his speech at the inauguration, Narendra Modi further said that “more people are still influenced by his ideas than the family for which such efforts (to erase his contribution) were made.”

He went on to add:

Then nothing happened for 23 years…when our government came, we not only laid its foundation (in April 2015), but are also dedicating it to the nation today.

Taking his dig at Congress further, PM Modi also said that the parties who are busy seeking votes in the name of BR Ambedkar perhaps did not even bother to ponder about the projects that were pending. He said:

It is a different matter that they are thinking more of Baba Bhole than Babasaheb… even that is okay.
