The Indian Defence Forces mark one of the most prestigious jobs in the country. It’s three departments – Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force – all work together to keep us safe and sound in all conditions. If they had not been around, no Indian would have been able to cope with physical and international political issues.
The Indian Army, one of the foremost departments of Indian Defence Forces, has some of the most valiant officers, who are willing and all eager to give their lives at the slightest demands of the situation. Of late, hundreds of Indian soldiers have willingly given their lives for the well-being of their motherland to the Pakistani soldiers.
But have you wonder what happened to their parents and near and dear ones? Yes, they shatter into pieces when they receive such poignant news. But here we have the story of a father, who lost his son Gautam Gurung recently at an enemy attack. But instead of stopping everyone from joining the forces, he trains youth to join the Indian Army.
He is Retd. Brigadier Puran Gurung. A retired Army man himself, he imparts boxing training to young men and women in Dehradun with the motive of presenting more stern and stronger men at the front. According to him:
Jabse mera beta shaheed hua hai, hum uski pension ko khud na use karke, usse social work mein laga dete hain.
Isn’t his motive absolutely brilliant? What do you think about it? Do you know some people like Puran Gurung? Please share your views with us in the comments section below.
