105-year-old environmentalist has the perfect answer to Rahul Gandhi for his caste-based politics

One of India’s most noted environmentalist, Saalumarada Timmakka is renowned for her endeavor in planting and tending to 384 banyan trees along a stretch of 4-km on the Hulikal-Kudur highway. Needless to say, her zeal of giving back to the environment has received a lot of accolades, including being honored with the National Citizen’s Award of India and having a US environmental organization being named after her Thimmakka’s Resources for Environmental Education.

Now on the brink of the upcoming Karnataka state assembly elections, the Congress government in Karnataka is trying to capitalize on their Dalit card. From appeasing the Dalit in every way possible to bestowing an award to Thimmakka for her work towards preserving the environment, the Siddaramaiah government is doing so many things.

But are the Indian citizens so dull that they won’t be able to distinguish between good and evil? Thimmakka, for one, understood their nasty political plot and gave a fitting reply to the government. According to her, she had stumbled across many problems on her endeavor but never did once the government came in for help. She also asked the government to take the cheque issued as a reward to her as she does not need sympathies after her hard work got recognition from different sections of the society.

Here’s a video footage where she challenges the government to come forward and take the cheque rather than playing faulty caste-based politics. Take a look –

What do you think of this? Don’t you think it is high time for everyone to understand this cunning plot and answer the Congress party in a fitting way? Please share your views with us in the comments section below.
