Former US President Barack Obama snubbed NDTV’s Nidhi Razdan like a boss!

Media has always played a definitive role in structuring India’s politics. Before independence, it was the print media which helped the Indians to know about the pathetic conditions that the fellow Indians were steeped in and helped in ushering the revolution for freedom struggle to a great extent.

Even after independence, the print media – though sometimes propagandist – catered to the common mass and helped them know the political position of the country rather than presenting a biased commentary on any one particular party.

However, gone are the days. Nowadays, the media – print as well as new media – is more of a distorted perspective of individuals (the “journalists) than anything else. At least, that’s the case with some of the premier news channels, like NDTV. And while some people (read famous personalities) try to treat them with superiority, there are some people who simply snub them down. A recent incident bears testimony to this fact.

Recently, the former US President, Barack Obama, was here in India for his NGO – the Obama Foundation. While the event was specifically an interaction session meant for the students, some prominent journalists and reporters were also present. Nidhi Razdan from NDTV was one of them.

Needless to say, Nidhi just needed to talk to the former US President at any cost. And as soon as she got the mike, she began blabbering about who she is and how has she previously covered his tour to India. But Obama did not seem to be in the mood to get into politics. After all, he was here for a more profound cause and did not wish to get entangled in political question.

However, instead of saying a curt NO, Obama sought to troll the Indian journalist and literally ridiculed her for asking questions despite knowing it was an interaction session meant for the students. Take a look at this epic video –

So, what do you think of this interaction? Do you think Nidhi Razdan absolutely deserved it? Share your views with us in the comments section below!
