Protesting against the sealing drive of the Central Government, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has threatened the NDA government to go on an indefinite hunger strike if his demands are not met.
According to the latest news coming in, Arvind Kejriwal has been against the sealing drive launched by the Delhi Municipal Corporation last month in the commercial areas of the city. It may be remembered here that the Delhi Municipal Corporation is under the BJP jurisdiction, which is why there has been a tiff between the Delhi government and the former. The Delhi Chief Minister also reportedly met the protesting traders in Lajpat Nagar to understand their plight and has decided to go on an indefinite fast if the strike is not revoked till March 31.
On the other hand, Arvind Kejriwal has also sought a meeting appointment with PM Modi and the President of the Indian National Congress Rahul Gandhi to discuss about this issue.
It may also be noted here that this sealing drive was signaled by the High Court while the areas to be cleared belongs to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), which is why Kejriwal does not have much to do here other than requesting the respective bodies to revoke this drive altogether. However, since the traders group makes a grand vote bank, he has been trying with all his might to come to their aid as much as possible.
