With 19 members in the assembly BSP still falls short of 18. Though her conditional offers Mayawati is eyeing, seven votes from Congress,10 from Samajwadi Party that has 47 members in the assembly and one from RLD. But now with this move of BJP one vote of Mayawati will decrease and Mayawati will not be able to get to Rajya Sabha. Amit Shah has quashed this motive of BSP and has also helped BJP 9th Candidate to reach Rajya Sabha.
If this seemed similar to you, it may be noted here that Mayawati had done the exact same thing years ago to Atal Bihari Vajpayee that Amit Shah did to her now. Due to Mayawati, Atalji‘s government had fallen short of just a single vote.
With this, the Bharatiya Janta Party was able to field eleven instead of the stipulated ten candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections scheduled on March 23. BJP also named its three new candidates who have been selected to contest the elections. They are Anil Agarwal, Vidhya Sagar Sonkar and Salil Bishnoi. It may be recalled here that the party had announced the name of eight, instead of 10, candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections.
This settlement has put off Bahujan Samajwadi Party’s candidate Bhimrao Ambedkar, who was banking support from Congress and Samajwadi Party to bag a win.
Meanwhile, it has been heard from sources that Sonkar and Bishnoi are dummy candidates and they may withdraw on March 15, the last date of withdrawal by candidates. Anil Agarwal will, however, remain in fray as its ninth candidate.
